This year it seems everyone is buying earth-friendly products, recyclable materials and reusable containers. It makes sense then to get involved with environmentally friendly fundraisers if you need to raise money for your organization. In my last article I described
what fundraisers are available to schools. The fundraisers below are set up to help you organization sell someone else’s eco-products for a profit and in return your organization receives a percentage of the money.
Websites fundraisers. These fundraisers are online. Websites fundraisers are the easiest and hassle-free way to raise money. Just register your organization online and then spread the word (ex. via email, evite and so on) about your online fundraising opportunity. Friends and family can go online to the link you have provided and place an order. Then a percentage of the profits go to your organization.

Individual product fundraisers. These are the kind of fundraiser were a certain type of green product needs to be sold. These products, like the ones below, but not limited to these products, tend to be popular items and sometimes have accessories to accompany them.
Smencils. Smencils are pencils made from recycled newspaper and that smell. Each pencil can have a different scent, depending on the kit used. A school can receive up to 49% of the profit for selling these pencils.

Newman’s Organic Chocolate: If your organization is traditional about selling candy, coffee or food. That’s understandable, but convince your organization to switch to organic fair trade items like Newman’s Organic Chocolates.

Momentum: This type of fundraiser helps promote health and safe skin beauty buy selling organic beauty products (ex. cosmetics, lotions, hair products). The cost of the green products though can be very pricey, but perhaps worth the cost considering the chemicals that are in beauty products today.

Catalog Fundraisers: These are the traditional fundraisers that combine eco-products like the ones above in a catalog. You’ve seen the regular ones that are not environmentally friendly. They come with glossy pages and bright colors tempting you to buy everything inside. Now there are catalogs for eco-friendly fundraisers too.
The holidays are around the corners and fundraisers pamphlets, order forms, websites and catalogs are waiting for your organization to green the world.
