Sheep Poo Paper Christmas Cards Now Available
Posted on Fri Nov 16 2007
Using traditional paper making techniques they sterilize and wash their freshly collected sheep poo before pressing it, drying it and transforming it into paper products such as business cards, maps of Wales, bookmarks, wedding invitations and even air fresheners (which smell of fresh cut grass or daffodils, not poo), and now, just in time for the run up to the Christmas holidays, they have created a range of sheep poo paper Christmas cards – and they will ship orders worldwide. Creative Paper Wales don’t just make products from sheep poo, however, they also create paper from rags, old textiles and plants such as Japanese Knot Weed – anything except trees; they also have a range of reindeer poo paper products in the works too. Should you happen to have a plentiful supply of your own suitable poo, however, perhaps from a buffalo ranch for instance, they will even create bespoke poo paper for you. The company claim their Christmas cards are the most eco-friendly paper cards available – and as well as being chemical free and sustainable, the paper making process also creates a useful by-product – a rich liquid fertilizer which is given back to local farmers. For those of you who don’t want to increase the carbon footprint of the cards by shipping them from Wales, however, look out for their new paper making kits, which will show how to make paper from a range of waste or recycled products using just a kitchen blender. I think the sheep poo paper products are great. They are very nicely made, witty and they make great presents. I'll be buying more.
